2012 End of the world

You must have probably heard about the “December 21, 2012 - Doomsday” the day when the world is prophesized to come to an end. In fact, you will find it amusing that this December 21, 2012 - End Of The World prophecy has been backed up by so many religions, calendars, and prophecies. So, is this another theory of Apocalypse that will come and go like the ones we have been seeing or is it the one that we should pay attention to? After digging for several hours through the Internet in this matter, I came up with the following worthy information regarding “The End Of The World.

Mayan Calendar: The ancient Mayan calendar states that the world will end in December 21, 2012. The Mayan civilization flourished in Central America from the 6 A.D. to 9 A.D. They were obsessed with time-keeping, and in fact, their calender were so incredibly precise that its interlocking time scales of lunar, solar, and planetary cycles could accurately predict solar/lunar eclipses thousands of years into the future. This accurate calendar however mysteriously ends on December 21, 2012!

It states that on December 21, 2012, the sun rises on the dark rift of the center of the milky way which is referred to as a black hole. In the last five years, the western astronomers have in fact discovered that there is in fact an enormous black hole at the center of our milky way galaxy. The contemporary astronomers concur with the Mayans. On 21st of December, 2012, the Earth will be in exact alignment with the Sun and the center of our milky way galaxy, a galactic event which takes place only once every 25,800 years! No one knows what effect this extraordinary alignment will have on our planet, but the Mayans believe it would be terrible!

The Polar Shift Theory: Geophysicists have a theory that is strikingly similar to the events predicted by the Mayan alignment. The phenomenon is called the “polar shift,” in which the entire mantle of the earth would shift in a matter of days or perhaps hours during such galactic events, causing positions of the north and south pole to change, further causing worldwide disaster, earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, and other natural disasters.

Accordingly, several eclectic authors claim that a major, world-changing event will take place in 2012!

Even the book “The Orion Prophecy” claims that the Earth’s magnetic field will reverse, which further supports the Polar Shift Theory besides the prediction of Merlin that also suggests a polar shift. NASA predicts that during 2012, as the Sun reaches the end of the current 11-year sunspot cycle, it will reverse its own magnetic poles, which may further amplify the effects of magnetic field on earth as harmful charged particles blast away from the sun (also known as solar storming).

Planet Eris or Planet X or NibiruPlanet Eris/”Nibiru” or Planet-X and the Global warming: This theory suggests that the real cause of climate changes, volcanic activities, and intensification of the seismic activity etc. is the planet Eris’s getting closer to our solar system once in 3600 years, named as 2003-UB-313, which ultimately results in the melting of the glaciers! This Planet Eris or so called “Nibiru” was first observed in October 21, 2003, using 1.22 m Oschin telescope at Mount Palomar Observatory (California). It is said to have passed between Mars and Jupiter some 7200 years ago, which most probably had triggered the cataclysm “Noah’s flood” and again this will be at the close proximity to Earth between 2010 and 2012, which can cause massive melting of the glaciers, causing huge tidal waves and ultimately, the return of the Noah’s flood!

I Ching: Another sets of factors backing up this December 21, 2012 Doomsday is the I Ching prophecy. Despite the views of skeptics, the 5000 years old I Ching has become an oracle of the doomsday. The highs and lows of the I Ching graphs seems to have accurately corresponded to the fall of the roman empire, discover of the new world, and world wars of the 20th century, and the strangest things of all was, the time line came to an end to the exact specific date, December 21, 2012! Is it a coincidence that both prophecies of I Ching and Mayan Calendar came to the same exact date and time? In fact, many world’s religions and most famous prophets reference that something cataclysmic will happen around December 21, 2012. The medieval predictions of Merlin, The Book of Revelation, and the well-known Chinese Oracle of the “I Ching” all point to this specific date as the end of civilization.

The Bible Code & Nostradamus Prophesies: According to the certain algorithms of Bible code, a meteor, asteroid, or comet will soon collide with the Earth.

Everybody knows the Nostradamus prophesies, that have very accurately predicting many world leaders rising to power and major events in the past. His prophesies were accurate in predicting the demise of the World Trade Centers in 2001 as well.

Even the book “The Nostradamus Code” further speaks of a series of natural disasters caused by some kind of a “comet” and those studying the Prophecies of Nostradamus states that he might have further indicated the possibility of a “Third World War” where nuclear wars can create “comet-like” mass destructions everywhere.

So are we going to have a Third World War? At the current scenario, it seems we might have - proving the Nostradamus Prophesies.

Even the high-tech oracles which is not even human, i.e., “Web-Bots” are predicting the end of the world as December 21, 2012, besides the Mayan, I Ching, Merlin, Book Of Revelation, etc. Is it just a coincidence or a meaningless pattern of random events?

The Ancient Egypt Pyramid

The Ancient Egyptians believed that when a pharaoh died he became Osiris, the king of the dead. They believed that for the dead pharaoh to carry out his duties as king of the dead his ka (soul or spirit) which remained with the body, had to be looked after.
In order for the ka to survive, the dead pharaoh's body was mummified and buried with all the things it would need for the afterlife. This picture shows a funeral procession. The mummified pharaoh's body is being carried to the tomb along with all the things that will be placed in the tomb for the ka - statues, furniture, pottery and the pharaoh's favourite possessions. The first pyramid to be built was the Step Pyramid at Sakkara (Saqqara). It was built by Imhotep for the king Djoser. The step pyramid was originally intended to be a large square mustaba (tomb) built over an underground burial chamber but further extensions were added making a six-layered step pyramid 62 metres in height.
Pharaoh's continued to be buried in pyramids until the end of the Middle Kingdom 1650BC when they began to be buried in tombs in the Valley of the Kings.About 100 pyramids have been discovered in Egypt but the largest and most well known are the pyramids at Giza, near Cairo. The Great pyramid is the largest pyramid and stands 146 metres high. The pyramids were built by skilled workers who were paid a wage. Farmers were often drafted to help with pyramid construction during the flood season.
There are many theories about how the Ancient Egyptians actually built the pyramids. It is believed that large blocks of stone were transported along the river Nile to the Giza site. They were then moved into place using sledges and ramps. The entrance to the Great Pyramid leads to a descending passage about 1 metre wide and 1.2 metres high. The passage is at a 26ยบ angle and leads to the subterranean chamber. It is believed that the subterranean chamber was either a false burial chamber to fool tomb robbers or that the king changed his mind about his final resting place.
An ascending passage, with the same dimensions as the descending passage leads upwards to the Grand Gallery. Another horizontal passage leads to the Queen's chamber. The Queen's chamber was never finished, the floor is uneven and the walls undecorated. It is believed that this was initially to be the king's chamber but that the passage was too low and narrow for the king's sarcophagus and was abandoned.
The Grand Gallery which leads directly to the King's chamber is 48 metres long and 8.5 metres high. The King's Chamber is 5.2 metres x 10.8 metres and 5.8 metres high. The inside of the chamber is polished pink granite. A granite sarcophagus is inside the chamber and this would have been where the king's mummified body would have been placed.

Federer feels he is invincible again

Roger Federer feels he is "invincible" again. That's the warning he sounded for all those who thought they cracked the Swiss legend, and critics who wrote him off.

Federer after beating Andy Murray in US Open to end his Grand Slam drought this year, is just relieved to enter his zone, where he belonged all these years.

"I felt like I was invincible for a while again," said Federer after breezing through three sets against Murray 6-2, 7-5, 6-2 to win his fifth straight US Open championship and 13th Grand Slam title, one short of Pete Sampras's record collection.

"I don't understand redemption quite that well, but I don't think that's what it is. I don't feel like I needed this win particularly to prove myself."

"It's just being happy to be on top. So things are not looking that bad like everybody's talking about."

Federer has been hurtling down from one loss to another this season and the biggest setback was when Rafael Nadal snatched his proud possession for five years - Wimbledon - after an epic clash.

End of Federer era; time for change of guard, the critics said. "I was aware of all that was being said. Sometimes it annoys you. Because all sorts of crazy people started writing me and trying to reach me, telling me I need some help either mentally or physically," he said.

SALEM - The District

Salem is one of the famous District in TamilNadu. It's famous for Mangoes. It's also called Mango city. It is exported to many places from here. Most of the lands used for cultivation. One of the tourist spot in Salem is Yercaud. It is also called poor mans Ooty. Since it cover poor as well as rich. It is also being attracted by foreigners. There is a famous lake and cave temple. Every year flower exhibition is being conducted here.
A famous Dam called Mettur Dam is there in salem. It is located between two mountains. Kaveri river gives water throughout the year. The Dam built across the Kaveri. It provides water for both drinking and cultivation.

YERCAUD - The Hill Station

In Tamilnadu people talk only about Ooty and Kodaikanal as hill stations. No mention is ever made, even in passing, of Yercaud. Majority of the people even refuse to accept that Yercaud is also a hill station. Yercaud is, in a way, the poor man's Ooty, much like elandai pazham being the poor man's apple! If Ooty is the queen of hills, Yercaud is the princess! For the people in the Northern districts, suffering for centuries due to poverty, drought, famine, hunger and heat, the only silver lining is Yercaud.

Yercaud which is 1515 metres above sea level is 333 sq. km in extent. The maximum temperature is 29 celsius only. The population is 32,746 and most of the people are tribals. A number of buses ply from Salem to Yercaud and back. The only mode of travel from Salem to Yercaud is by bus. It takes an hour of negotiating 20 dangerous hair-pin bends to reach the peak.

One is gripped by fear as the bus negotiates the hair-pin bends: one breathes easy only after seeing the greenery on either side of the road signalling the end of travel! It is very scary if one looks down through the window! All along the route, monkeys playing pranks and violet flowers on trees makes one wonder where one is. There is greenery all round - this is a new experience, for the city bred. The forests make one energetic and enthusiastic, like a child.

Yercaud is yet another example of how the British appreciated our natural resources better than us. Yercaud is famous for coffee and pepper in much the same way Ooty and Kodai are famous for tea. The English used Yercaud as a summer retreat and their legacy is all over the place. Rows and rows of houses, much like ants moving in files, dot the entire hills. The number of places to be seen in Yercaud may not be many, but each one of them is really worth the visit.

One of the important places is the Pagoda point. The Pagoda Point, is so known because a number of pyramid-like structures abound here. The Anjaneya temple is believed, by the locals, to be very powerful. One can get a full view of Salem from here. You can go boating for Rs.20. The one kilometre lake is surrounded by trees all round. It is a pleasurable experience to go boating in this lake. Depending on one's budget one can take a two-seater or a six-seater boat. Right on top of the hill stands the Servarayan temple in which Lord Servarayan resides with his consort Kaveri. This deity, the local people believe, is the guardian angel for the 67 villages in and around Yercaud. This temple is inside a cave and one has to bend and go in. People go inside in batches of three.

The cave extends beyond the temple and the locals say it extends all the way to the Kaveri in Karnataka, a distance of 480 km. Very few have explored the full cave. One of the shopkeepers Mathaiyan said, "I have tried going inside this cave once. I could go only 3 km. I did this after a strict fasting for 41 days. After 3 km. it is pitch dark; no ventilation; snakes all over. it is believed some saints, in the days gone by, had travelled the full length. Tippu Sultan was supposed to have hidden in this cave during a war." To the south east of the temple is a very old well and it is a wishing well!

The locals believe if they are able to throw at least one stone, from three picked up from the temple, inside the well, with their backs to the well, they will succeed in whatever they plan to do. If one walks down from the Temple, one reaches Killiyur falls. Water, falls from a height of 300 m. During the rainy seasons, the locals say, these falls are very dangerous. Next to the Servarayan temple is the Raja Rajeswari Amman temple. There is also the Jothi Samadhi ashram. The massive Rajarajeswari idol is installed in a sitting posture, and 4.5 feet tall. One can buy prasad, gem stones and lucky stones. There is also a hall for meditation. One can get a full view of Namakkal and Salem from the "Ladies Seat". The Anna Park is a quiet place to relax.

The British legacy continues in the form of a boys' higher secondary school Montfort. This school is for the elite - the tuition is about a lakh of rupees per annum. The student who comes out of this school is an all rounder. The boys are trained in sports, politics, music, in addition to the curriculum. Some of the celebrity alumni of the school are ex-speaker of TN Assembly PTR Palanivel Rajan and the present hero Vikram.

"October and November are the best months here. Foreign tourists are more during the other months. Since Dassera holidays are in Oct., there a re a lot of tourists from Bangalore. In Nov. tourists from North India visit Yercaud, taking advantage of Diwali holidays. Yercaud is less expensive than other tourist destinations and is preferred by the middle class. By car, the expense is Rs.400 only, for a full tour of Yercaud. Travel guide charges are Rs.150 only - the entire family can tour Yercaud on a budget of about Rs.1000. Tamilnadu Hotel offers rooms at very economical rates," says a tourist guide, Prince.

The annual flower show is in May. Cardamom, pepper, orange are the main crops in Yercaud. Seasonal fruits are produced in plenty. The majority of the local population consists of daily wage-earners in the coffee estates. 30% of the houses were built during the British Raj. The British legacy is there to be seen and felt in a number of places. A number of hotels built to International standards are well ensconced among trees. To enjoy every bit of nature in this hill, the British paved roads and built dwelling units. If the early architects of this hill station were to see the roads today, they would be shocked! The roads are pathetic - full of craters, ill-maintained, uncared for. The only hope is, Yercaud gets its fair share of the Central Government's increased budget for tourism.

The English who returned to their native land, after our Independence, would certainly have felt a sense of anguish and a tinge of sadness at being forced to leave this wonderful place, surrounded by Nature!

Apology by ronaldo to manu fans

Cristiano Ronaldo has reassured Manchester United fans that he will play for the club with his "heart and soul".The Portuguese winger admitted for the first time to the Mirror that he is determined to stay and play for the English champions at least for one season.Ronaldo ended weeks of talk about his future and also said sorry for the row.

The United superstar said: "Ferguson heard my reasons, I heard his and indeed we had an agreement that the best solution for both parties would be if I stay."And before there are any rumours or speculation that I might stay against my will, I want to clear this up right now - whoever says or writes that, is lying."I will play for Manchester United with my heart and soul. I will fight and honour that shirt with all the commitment and dedication that I have always had."I want to say that I was the one who was most responsible for the whole controversy."It wasn't their (Real Madrid's) fault because I was the one that showed in public my will to move to Madrid. I also ended up, even though it wasn't my intention, the one responsible for all the problems between the two clubs."My desire was, for a while, for Manchester to sell me to Madrid. To say the opposite would be cheating people and my own conscience. But I do want to play there one day and my ambition to go there remains the same."

Ferguson had stood by Ronaldo in his darkest hours after the World Cup in 2006 and he has apparently been repaid by the star - even if he has been flirting outrageously with Real for months.Ferguson said: "I knew this was the case. I flew to Portugal and cleared the air. The boy has been through a lot in terms of the approach from the Spanish people."Once he knew my stance he settled down and was very pleased."I think the fans have got to understand it's difficult for him when your head is turned by all of this money."He's a young lad whose father died and he looks after his mother, sister and brother. I can understand that."Cristiano is happy here, he's always been happy here. He has always been treated properly. I have a great relationship with the boy. We will put this to bed now."

Now United can slam the door on his exit for a season or more, leaving Ferguson to plot a raid for a new striker and stuffing the Spaniards whose methods had undermined the club for months.United complained to FIFA about the Spanish champions' persistent attempts to lure Ronaldo.Football's governing body said no regulations had been broken. But Madrid were warned of potential legal consequences of inducing a player to breach his contract without just cause.

Real had been relying on Ronaldo asking for a move, but he always bottled that final act and the way he avoided flying back to Manchester also showed he had lost his nerve to push for a transfer. The key to last night's dramatic developments was that meeting between the player and Ferguson in Portugal just after his country's exit at Euro 2008. At the time it seemed certain Ronaldo would leave, but Ferguson managed to persuade the Madeira-born player he was much better off where he was.Ferguson, however, knows he will continue to be plagued by questions over Ronaldo and is equally aware the speculation will begin again next summer - given the player's claim he still wants to play for Real one day.

But for now United can start the defence of their European and Premier crowns content in the knowledge that the world's No.1 player will be back in a red shirt once he has shaken off his ankle injury.

Robinho Needs Counselling - Pele

Robinho effectively forced his exit from Real Madrid, the forward yearned to switch capital cities and join Chelsea, but it was Los Meringues who had the final say in the matter refusing to do business with the Stamford Bridge side and accepting the £32.5million fee from Eastlands.

Madrid knew they had to cash in on Robinho as Roman Calderon is quoted by France 24 as saying: "Robinho has a morale problem more extensive than we first thought... When he talked about his situation, he cried and demanded to leave Spain.

Pele is disgusted by the behaviour of his fellow Brazilian: "Chelsea are lucky. This boy needs some serious counselling. In my view he has been badly advised," Football 365 quote him to say.

Santos President, Marcelo Teixeira added: "This is one of the most disgraceful episodes in Brazilian football... He is a player who is an idol to children... But he has not acted like one."

Jose Fernandos, Santos manager said: "We are ashamed at having produced such a player."
