Bond stays top of UK box office


The new James Bond film Quantum of Solace remains at the top of the UK box office for a second week, after taking £9.2m over the weekend. The movie has now taken £31.4m in the UK and Ireland since its release. High School Musical 3: Senior Year was in second place, followed by Ricky Gervais' Ghost Town. In fourth place was horror movie Saw V, while Pride and Glory, starring Edward Norton and Colin Farrell, debuted at number five after taking £396,688.New release W, which tells the story of US president George W Bush, debuted in sixth place with takings of £367,512. George Clooney's latest movie, Burn After Reading, which sees him reunite with Tilda Swinton and Brad Pitt, was in seventh place. Another new entry in the top 10 was the romantic comedy Easy Virtue, starring Jessica Biel and Colin Firth, which entered at number eight.
